Key challenges

Currently homes, offices and other buildings are built with materials such as concrete, stone, cement, wood and steel. This puts an enormous burden on the environment and our climate. This includes the production and transport of the materials, but most of the used materials cannot be recycled easily.

The key challenges that need to be addressed are:

- Limited access to sustainable and affordable buildings for homes, hospital and offices
- Lack of craftsmen
- Shortage of green, blue and grey water
- Shortage of sand
- Health problems related to radon build-up buildings (made of concrete, clay and stone)
- Logistic challenges
- Emission of CO2, NOx, and ultrafine dust
- Energy transition and renewable energy
- Cradle-2-cradle
